Notes and Comments on South, Central, North and Pattaya Beach Road areas
For the purpose of this website this area is the west side of Sukhumvit (inside Sukhumvit as they say), north of Theprassit Road through to North Pattaya Road (Pattaya Nua) and Pattaya Beach Road (Pattaya Bay).
This are is mostly condominiums, low-rise and high-rise.
The beach runs from the start of Walking Street through to the Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel where it becomes Wong Amat Beach.
Entertainment areas vary from one extreme to another.
If you want a drink you have the choice of Beer Bars, Go-Go Bars or traditional British-style pubs such as Jameson’s, Punch & Judy, The Sportsman on Soi 13 and several Retox establishments and Queen Victoria on Soi 6.
If you would like to eat you have the choice of street food, Pub food, local Thai and western restaurants, eating in the variety of restaurants in the shopping malls or fine dining alternatives such as Restaurant Casa Pacal and Mantra, with the Five Star Hotels such as Hilton Pattaya, Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa and Holiday Inn offering dining alternatives from International Sunday Brunch to coffee-shop-style dining.
Shopping is made easy with local souvenir shops ranging through to Mike Shopping Mall, Royal Garden Plaza and Central Festival Pattaya Beach which is the largest ocean-front shopping Mall in SE Asia.
